Precious, possibly abandoned cat?
We'd been hearing a cat miaowing for a few days, and it seemed distressed, but whenever I tried to look I could never figure out where it was. On this day I was in front of the house with my granddaughter (Lu) when we heard it again. We went looking and started calling. Lo and behold, this cat came running to us, jumping from one of the flats in the block nearby and miauwing like mad! It couldn't jump the fence so I had to lift Lu up for her to get the cat, she let herself be picked up without protest, and Lu named her Precious.

These trees should have been replaced by Sweet chestnut trees. Better for wildlife and humans. I've collected loads of sweet chestnuts here in 'Wanstead park', East London. Some as sweet and some are not. Still nothing beats going outside and foraging...all for free.
Something about sweet chestnuts not being native (*only been here since 1600s ...*) whereas Lime trees are considered native was probably one of the reasons. I think the other one may have been Lime trees grow faster are less threatened by disease? Still, going to be quite a few years till we get the shaded pathway back.
